About us
An audiovisual studio that also flies, not a pilot who also films. Based in Mallorca, covering the whole island.
Mallorca Drone Studio started from a simple observation: most drone videos are technically correct and narratively empty. Pretty shots that say nothing. We came from the audiovisual world and reached the drone afterwards, not the other way round, and that changes how we approach every job.
What we do
We produce aerial video and photography for two very different kinds of client. On one side, people who need something to look better than it looks: a villa, an agrotourism, a wedding, a sporting event. On the other, people who need data: a farmer who wants to know what is happening to the almond grove before it becomes visible from the track.
They are different jobs with the same tool. What they share is the method: understand the problem first, then decide whether the drone is the answer, and only then fly.
How we work
Every project starts with a conversation, not with a quote. We ask what the video is for, where it will be published and what it has to achieve. Sometimes the honest answer is that you do not need a drone, or that you need less drone and more editing. We say so.
Then comes planning, which in Mallorca is half the work: reviewing airspace, applying for authorisations where the area requires them, checking the weather with margin and picking the right light window. A well-planned shoot is done in half a day; a badly planned one gets repeated.
Legal and safe
We operate as an operator registered with AESA, with certified pilots and unmanned aircraft public liability insurance on every flight. This is not footer decoration: on a private estate full of guests, or on a plot next to a road, it is what separates a professional service from a problem.
We always carry redundant equipment. An event does not happen again tomorrow, and neither does a wedding.
Where we fly
We cover the whole of Mallorca with no travel charge, from Palma and the bay to the Serra de Tramuntana, the north, the Llevant and the Pla. We also work in Menorca, Ibiza and mainland Spain, quoting travel separately.
What we fly
Four aircraft, each for a different problem: a cinematic drone for the wide shots, a sub-250 g machine for weddings and restricted areas, and two FPV craft for interior fly-throughs and impossible trajectories. We choose based on what needs filming, not on what happens to be in the bag.
