Drone filming in the Serra de Tramuntana
A World Heritage site, and the best stage on the island for aerial video. Also the most demanding place to fly.
The Tramuntana is where aerial video justifies itself: dry-stone walls, centuries-old olive trees, impossible mountain roads and the sea appearing beyond every pass. Sóller, Valldemossa, Deià, Fornalutx and Pollença are the most requested locations, especially for rural hotels, estates and tourism campaigns.
Flying here demands respect. There are bird protection zones, mountain wind that changes direction within a few metres, and drops that complicate keeping visual line of sight. We plan every flight with margin and pick the hour according to the wind and the mountain shadow, which arrives earlier than people expect.
When to shoot
Good light in the Tramuntana is short. On north-facing slopes the shadow falls very early; on southern ones, first light gives a spectacular backlight over the sea. That governs the shooting plan more than anything else.

Can you fly at Sa Calobra or the Torrent de Pareis?
There are strictly protected zones. Some points allow flight under conditions and others do not. We check case by case before committing to a date.
Is wind a problem in the sierra?
It is the factor that reschedules most shoots. We fly with a confirmed weather window and always with a backup date.
Do you film the Formentor road?
Yes, it is one of the most requested locations. It needs planning for traffic and for the airspace near the lighthouse.
Do you work with rural hotels in the area?
It is a significant part of the work: agrotourism, estates and country hotels in Sóller, Deià and Pollença.
